Risk disclaimer

Trading foreign exchange, cryptocurrencies, equities, indices and derivatives carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. You can lose more than your initial deposit on leveraged products. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

Nothing here is financial advice

TradeDiscuss is a record-keeping platform. Everything published on it is a user-submitted prediction, graded against market data under a published methodology. Nothing on this site is a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any financial instrument, and nothing on it is personalised advice. We do not know your circumstances, your objectives, your tax position or your risk tolerance, and nothing here is adapted to them.

A graded call is not proof of a trade or a profit

This is the most important limitation on the site and it is stated everywhere for a reason. A call graded at +3R means the prediction, measured against our data under our rules, would have returned three times its stated risk. It does not mean:

  • that the trader placed the trade;
  • that they placed it at that size, or at all;
  • that they earned that return, or any return;
  • that a live account trading the same call would have matched the result.

Outcomes are modelled. They exclude slippage, spread on the exit, commissions, financing, partial fills and the effect of position sizing or holding several positions at once. A real account trading identical calls would perform slightly worse, essentially always.

Market data limitations

Outcomes are computed from the specific market data feed named on each call page. There is no consolidated tape in foreign exchange, so an FX result is relative to the feed we name and would differ on another. Equity calls are graded against a single exchange's prints rather than the consolidated tape, which is a real but partial view of where a stock traded.

Data can also be late, incomplete or wrong. Where our series has a gap inside an open session we hold the call for review rather than grade it — but no data pipeline is perfect, and we do not claim ours is.

Past results do not predict future outcomes

A long, strong record is evidence about the past. It is weak evidence about the future, and a short record is almost no evidence at all. Our scoring deliberately withholds a composite figure until a record is long enough to carry one, and damps clusters of correlated calls — but no statistical treatment turns a track record into a forecast.

Users are responsible for their own decisions

If you act on something you read here, that is your decision and your risk. Traders publishing on TradeDiscuss are independent users, not employees, agents or representatives of the platform. We do not vet their competence, verify their identity (see what we verify), or endorse any of them. Leaderboard position is not a recommendation.

No warranty

TradeDiscuss is provided as is. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, that data will be accurate or complete, or that grading will be free of defects. We do publish our methodology in full so that defects can be found and reported, and material grading corrections are announced rather than applied silently.

Regulatory status

TradeDiscuss is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, portfolio manager or signal service. It does not execute trades, hold client funds, or receive commission on trading activity. It is not registered with any financial regulator in any jurisdiction, because it does not carry out any regulated activity.

Some jurisdictions restrict the promotion of trading products and the publication of trading signals. You are responsible for ensuring your use of this site is lawful where you are.

Questions and corrections

If you believe a call has been graded incorrectly, tell us — a grading defect is the most serious bug this platform can have. Contact details are on the about page.
