Coins

Every account starts with 50,000 coins. Put some on a call and they settle at the R it actually made — 1,000 coins returns 2,000 at +2R and loses 1,000 at −1R.

What coins are, and what they are not

Being exact about this is the whole reason they are safe to have here.

What they do
  • Make an outcome legible. “+2.4R” is the honest unit but it is abstract; “+2,400 coins” lands immediately, and the two are the same number.
  • Teach position sizing. Your exposure across open calls is capped at your balance, so you cannot risk what you do not have.
  • Punish a gap properly. A call that gapped through its stop and lost 1.8R loses 1.8 stakes here too — the downside is not capped at the stop, because it is not capped in the market either.
What they are not
  • Not money. They cannot be bought, sold, transferred or withdrawn. There is no purchase page and there will not be one.
  • Not a track record. Coins never touch Track Record, Trader Score or Reputation, and never affect where anything ranks.
  • Not a measure of skill. Posting more calls and sizing them bigger moves this number. That is the opposite of what the leaderboard measures, which is why they are kept apart.

Run out? If your balance falls below 2,000 coins you are topped back up to 10,000 once a week, recorded in your ledger like everything else. Nobody is locked out of a game they cannot lose anything real in.

Ranked purely by coins — which rewards volume and luck as much as judgement.

A big number here is not evidence of skill and is never presented as any. For a record that carries its sample size and window, read the leaderboard or any trader's profile.
